Bank History
On December 3, 1908, the Farmers State Bank of Aliceville opened its doors for business to serve Aliceville and the surrounding communities. As you can tell by the pictures, the bank has continued to maintain its historical originality. In fact, until 1998, the bank employees still used an original out-house. The outhouse is still standing on the property today, but it has been replaced with indoor plumbing! The bank is the only bank in Coffey County Kansas to not close or merge with another bank during the Great Depression Era.
In July of 1998, the bank added a branch location in Burlington, Kansas and in July of 2009, the bank added another branch location in Lebo, Kansas. For over 50 years, the Farmers State Bank of Aliceville has been family-owned and operated. The family is active in the day-to-day operations and lives in the local area.
